3 Tips for Improving Brand Visibility

Javi Fondevila

Improving brand visibility is getting more and more difficult as time goes by. Businesses in all industries are operating within increasingly crowded and noisy markets as the rate of new entrants increases and the number of customers remains the same. This is thanks, in part, to the internet and because we live in a digitally connected world.

Still, though, if you know what you are doing and take your time to learn a few new tricks, improving brand visibility becomes a lot easier. It’s not something that can be done overnight, though—be aware of that!

3 Tips for Improving Brand Visibility

You don’t need to be a genius or next-level marketing wizard to drive a bit more traffic to your website. In fact, you can get going with it straight away. Although the results may take quite a bit of time and effort before they truly manifest, it is well worth it when executed correctly.

1. Make sure you have a mobile-friendly site

Research and statistics have shown that a whopping 96% of consumers will use their smartphone or tablet device(s) when searching online. It doesn’t matter if you are a brick-and-mortar store, a service provider, or are selling an inventory of physical products through Shopify, you absolutely must have a website that is mobile-friendly.

If your website isn’t responsive and mobile-friendly, you will not rank highly in search engine results pages which means that improving brand visibility will be more difficult. Not only that, customers who are able to find your website using their smartphone or tablet devices may find themselves frustrated because it is not responsive and optimized for finger-tapping.

Simply put, a mobile-friendly website is no longer an option that is up for consideration. You need to have one and if you don’t, it’s something you should get to right away. Good news, though—if you are using Shopify or WordPress, your theme is likely to already be mobile-friendly.

2. Invest in social media marketing

Social media marketing is the biggest form of digital marketing and overall advertising in the world. Millions of companies all over the globe invest billions in it per year and it is something that keeps growing.

One thing that you need to understand is that it is highly likely that an overwhelming majority of your target market are going to be regularly using Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels to not only communicate with their friends and family, but their favorite celebrities, brands, and companies, too. If you don’t have a presence on social media and don’t invest in social media marketing, then it is going to be a lot harder for you to work on improving brand visibility.

Choose one or two social media platforms for you to focus your digital marketing on and learn about your target audience before you start designing and deploying ads, though. Digital marketing, particularly on social media, is very granular—you can target people right down to their unique personality traits and interests.

3. Create written content

The term “content is king” has a lot of truth to it. On the internet, it is written content that is the key to improving brand visibility. Whether you are blogging on your own site, writing product descriptions, curating social media posts, or are guest posting on another site’s blog, writing high-quality, optimized, and relevant content is one of the best ways to get ahead—this has and will always be the case.

Consumers tend to trust companies more when they have a lot of high-quality content surrounding their brand, product, or service that they can read. It is something that helps establish an authoritative voice within an industry and demonstrates that you, brand X with all your unique, informative content, are better than brand Y who have no written content or have copied somebody else’s.

You can get started with this by creating a blog and simply writing about your industry, your product or service, and your company. Over time, you will build your authority up not only in the eyes of Google (leading to you appearing higher in search results) but in the eyes of consumers, too (leading to increased sales), and this will help you improve visibility.
